DEPUTY DIRECTOR FOR PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION    (Functional Title)

The Assistant Executive Director, California Transportation Commission, under the administrative direction of the Executive Director, formulates policies for the State's multi-modal transportation system; recommends to the Commission an Annual Report to the Legislature and a State Transportation Improvement Program; evaluates the Caltrans budget for the Legislature; represents the Commission in the legislative process to provide liaison with Federal, State, regional, and local agencies; and does other related work.

A vacancy exists in the Sacramento Office. It is expected that the work assignments among the various Assistant Executive Director positions will be re-assigned in a manner which matches the employees' background, skills, knowledge, and abilities to the work to be performed.

The Commission is also conducting an open examination for this classification. It is anticipated that interviews for this position will not be conducted until the open examination process is concluded and a list issued at which time the successful examination candidates and other job applicants will be interviewed.
